Give Him your First Fruits
What does it mean to give Him your first fruits?
Offer Him your very best. The Jews in the Old Testament had to make sacrifices for their sins. Many times it was a lamb or goat, but there were also harvest sacrifices. Both required the very best, perfect and without blemish. I think that as I grow in my relationship with Jesus, He also expects the very best in my skills, talent and gifts. Why would I offer Him anything less than my best? David said to a man from whom he wanted to purchase his threshing floor, “I will not offer God anything that costs me nothing.” He was willing to pay because he wanted the threshing floor to cost him something since he was going to offer it to God. I have been convicted of this ever since I read this story years ago.
Do I do my best for Him? Do I come prepared to offer Him my best? What have I invested whether it be time, money, gifts or talent? What is God doing in your lie to challenge you to give Him your top priority?
Give Him Your First Fruits (Fun Gospel beat)

Honor Him with my first,
The perfect, without blemish.

Give the best of my harvest,
And raise Him my highest Hallelujah.

He deserves my highest praise,
(Let us sing!)
I cannot offer Him anything,
That costs me nothing –
(Let this message ring!)
Give Him my first fruits, nothing less!
Verse 2:
Give so others’ needs are met,
Honor Him with your purest praises,
Give Him your job, your children and your land,
Your time and energy, too.
Raise His name, with uplifted hands.
Lift your voice, give Him everything!

He deserves my highest praise,
(Let us sing!)
I cannot offer Him anything,
