Life
John 1:4 says, “In Him was life and the life was the light of men.”
God tells us when He gives life, it is abundant and complete. In John 14:6, He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father but through me.” John 10:10 clearly states, “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” And Philippians 12:1 reads, “For me to live as Christ and to die is gain.”
Life is a big word, and it has some significant implications. Life isn’t just the life we know here on earth. Life on earth is temporal. It’s fleeting. So many Scriptures talk about life being like grass, here today gone tomorrow. Or life is a mist, a fog that is here in the morning but gone by noon. Our lives are short from the perspective of eternity. Life with Christ in the eternal is much more important because it lasts forever.
It's easy to get caught up in the life we have here and now because it’s right in front of us. It can consume us. It can take over our goals, desires, and daily focus to the point we forget there is life after life. Eternal life.
What are you investing in now that will impact your eternal home? Are you so overwhelmed with life here and what yu live in, what you have, and what you look like? Are you aware and challenged to live your life today for the future and your eternity?
