Hide Me
Sometimes I find myself feeling overwhelmed. Not so much from the physical part of the journey, but more from the mental and emotional. Thinking of what life could look like in nine to twelve months from now? It can be interesting and yet it’s a futile exercise since none of us know where we will be tomorrow let alone six to twelve months from now. Only God holds the future, so I must surrender my ideas of what tomorrow and any day in the future looks like. God knows tomorrow and what that will be. God helps me surrender and release those thoughts so He can have full input in my thoughts. He helps me take very thought captive so that it is in full submission to His will. While it is a challenge, it gives me peace that I can rest in His hands. I don’t have to ponder tomorrow or the effects of my disease. I can rest I today and leave my concerns with my God.
Hide Me
Verse 1 :
Take this burden off my chest,
And lead me down your path to rest.
Lead me down this path to joy,
And ignore those things that do annoy.
Help me surrender my frustration and tears,
And calm my soul from all my fears.
Shelter under your protective wings,
And give my soul rest so I can sing.
Chorus:
You are my hiding place,
My shelter from the storm.
You are the cleft in the rock,
Where your hand covers me.
You preserve me from trouble,
And surround me with songs of deliverance/ victory.
Keep me as the apple of your eye,
Hide me in the shadow of your wings.
Verse 2:
How great is your goodness you have stored up,
For those who fear You.
You lavish your love on those,
Who come to you for protection,
Bless me before the watching world,
You are a shelter from daytime heat,
And a hiding place from storms and rain,
I hope in your word.
Verse 3:
O, Lord hear and rescue me,
From all my troubles.
You are near to those,
Whose hearts are humble.
You save those,
Whose spirits are crushed.
The righteous person has many troubles,
But the Lord rescues us from all of them.
Bridge:
My heart is triumphant;
I give thanks to him with song.
The Lord is my strength,
Save and bless us who belong to you.
Be our shepherd,
And carry us forever!
