Even if the Healing doesn’t come

Today I find myself frustrated with my voice. I used to be a vocalist but since Covid, my voice suffered and changed. In truth, my cancer has made things even worse. It’s hard to describe the pain of swollen lymph nodes up and down my neck. This has put pressure on my throat which makes it hard to swallow even food and drink. It puts pressure on my voice box and vocal chords, too.

Last night, I asked Phil to join me in prayer for my voice to return. Is that something too much to ask from God? Of course, our voices do not stay the same as we age, but this is beyond the aging process. It grieves me at times as I try to record some of the music I’m writing. If it doesn’t get better, I will have to teach my songs to others and record them singing. It’s ok. I know God has a plan. I guess He’s humbling me every step of this path. It’s all about Him and His purpose. Maybe He wants me to focus on my piano skills!! Just like Him to get into my business and tune me to His “strings”. With my piano skills, there is definitely room for improvement!

So I pray. What are you asking God for today?

What if He chooses not to heal or restore what you’ve lost?

Share with me your prayer request and your thoughts.

Even if the Healing Doesn’t Come #2

Verse 1:

In the rai of yesterday, I remember,

Your hand in mine, a quiet ember.

We danced through storms, through highs and lows,

You whispered softly, “This love still grows.”

Pre-Chorus:

But when the heartache hit like a hurricane,

I hold on tight, I’ll never be the same.

Chorus:

You are God, You are good,

Forever faithful, through the misunderstood.

Even if the healing doesn’t come,

I trust in who You are, my heart’s still won.

Verse 2:

I recall those nights, sitting by the fire,

Sharing dreams and fears, lifting them higher.

Life fell apart, the plans we made,

But even in darkness, our hopes won’t fade.

Pre-Chorus:

We sang through tears, we fought the doubt,

Your love a beacon when the world’s in a rout.

Chorus:

Chorus:

You are God, You are good,

Forever faithful, through the misunderstood.

Even if the healing doesn’t come,

I trust in who You are, my heart’s still won.

Bridge:

Your ways are higher, I can’t always see,

But in the silence, you still hold me.

Yu reign above, yet you’re so near,

In every struggle, you calm my fear.

Chorus:

You are God, You are good,

Forever faithful, through the misunderstood.

Even if the healing doesn’t come,

I trust in who You are, my heart’s still won.

Outro:

So I’ll sing your praise, in the darkest night,

You’re the good and faithful one, You’re my guiding Light.

Even if the healing doesn’t come,

I’ll lift my voice, I know You’re the One.
