He Will Shelter Me

A friend and I went on an adventure yesterday. The rain was relentless as we were picking up a piece of furniture I’m putting in my entry way. She was kind enough to drive, pay for tolls, laugh and reminisce and struggle with some heavy pieces into the back of her truck and secure it. All through rain.

So we chatted about previous adventures, many of them circled around rain or water. It can be powerful. Good when things are dry but destructive when it floods or crashing in and messing up your plans. Yesterday was interesting because we made the most of the situation and decided to focus on the positive and fun of the day, spending a great time together and catching up. Luckily, she had great fabric furniture protectors, a tarp and ratchet straps. We were prepared but thank the Lord for the pick up truck cab!! It was a wet one!

When the rains of life come pouring in and causing angst in the midst of your situation, how do you handle the very thing you were not counting on? I had forgotten to check the weather and pray for no rain!  But God knew and He blessed it anyway, even with rain!

How do you respond when circumstances are out of your control?

He Will Shelter Me

Verse 1:

I take refuge in the Most High,

I find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

He alone is my refuge,

My place of safety.

He is my God, and I will trust Him,

For He will rescue me from every trap,

He will protect me from deadly disease.

Chorus:

He will cover me with his fathers.

He will shelter me with his wings.

His faithful promises are my armor and protection.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of night,

Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,

Nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

Verse 2:

I will make the Lord my refuge,

I will make the Most High my shelter,

No evil will conquer me;

 no plague will come near.

He will order his angels to protect,

me wherever I go,

The Lord says he will rescue those who love Him.

Bridge:

He will protect those who trust in His name.

When I call on Him, He will answer.

He will be with me in trouble.

He will rescue and honor me.

He will reward me with long life,

and give me His salvation.
